Quick HTV placement starting points

Start by choosing the placement zone, then size the artwork for the actual shirt. Center-front HTV designs often start around 2.5-3.5 in below the collar, left chest marks around 3-4 in wide, and sleeve marks around 2-4 in wide.

Measure the shirt flat before accepting a preset.
Keep artwork away from collars, seams, pockets, zippers, and sleeve cuffs.
Mirror HTV before cutting and confirm carrier-sheet clearance on the press.
Use the copy or print result as the job note before pressing a batch.

HTV placement quick reference

Use these placement ranges as a first check before entering custom measurements. The calculator below is better when you know the actual shirt width, design size, and target placement.

Placement	Starting point	Check before pressing
Center front	Start about 2.5-3.5 in below collar	Check collar drop, hem clearance, and heat platen size
Left chest	Use a 3-4 in wide mark for many adult shirts	Align visually on the worn left chest, not only from the side seam
Full back	Start lower than a front design	Check shoulder width, hood clearance, and sheet width
Sleeve	Use about 2-4 in wide artwork	Avoid sleeve seam, cuff, and tapered fabric
Pocket or work shirt	Keep logo inside the pocket-safe area	Do not press across raised pocket edges or buttons
